The Claim

The article suggests that the WEF used the COVID-19 pandemic as a beta test for a technocratic new world order. It cites a statement from the WEF’s “My Carbon” page, which discusses the adoption of restrictions for public health during the pandemic.

The relevant WEF statement said that “COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility” and described social distancing, masks, mass vaccination and contact-tracing applications as examples of individual social responsibility.

Analysis

The WEF statement does not explicitly say that COVID-19 was a test of obedience. It describes the global response to the pandemic as an example of social responsibility and notes that billions of people accepted significant public-health restrictions.

That wording can certainly be interpreted critically, particularly because the measures mentioned involved substantial restrictions and changes in everyday behaviour. However, the statement itself does not establish that the pandemic was deliberately created or conducted as an experiment to measure obedience.

The article also compares the situation with the Milgram experiment. That comparison is misleading. The Milgram experiment was a psychological study concerning obedience to authority, whereas the WEF statement was discussing public-health measures adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
